Ingrid's Favorite Photo from 2018

As a team, we always enjoy looking back at our past work. It allows us a chance to see where we excelled, and where we may need to improve. This year, we did this exercise a little differently. Each photographer chose one of their favorite photos from 2018- one that told a story. We’re sharing those photos and the stories behind them here. Enjoy!

Love can often be difficult to put to words, but a photograph can detail that very thing in just a moment. This moment speaks of just that to me. I had scouted various locations for a first look prior to arriving at the hotel where the couple were separately getting ready for their wedding day. I knew I needed a few options in case the light changed, or empty spaces became full of people or schedules ran over. The latter happened so I had to choose a location that was close in proximity for the first look. It unfolded beautifully against this simple wall at the hotel. This allowed for the emotion of the day to take center stage. As I photographed them laughing and looking at one another I knew that I had to continue looking through my camera for that moment when they both would forget I was there. They did, and this is how I captured this intimate moment between the two of them.
