Spring District Winery Wedding: Erin + Ben

Still, after so many weddings, I’m surprised how much trust a couple places in me. It’s a responsibility that I don’t take lightly. When I’m photographing the rings, for instance, I never want to handle them a second more than necessary. This isn’t a feeling I have during the wedding. No, I’m present for them. Afterwards, however, the weight of it hits me. Stand over here, the light is nice. Close your eyes by this weeping willow, and think of each other, I might tell them. And they do, and they are there for each other. They forget about me.

And that’s when I make images, like some of those of Erin and Ben, below. They cried, they danced, they acted goofy, and they looked smitten. My favorite photo of Erin and Ben is behind the newly leafed willow tree branches. They look as though they don’t have a care in the world. It’s the springtime of their lives, and it was a pleasure to be there with them.
