Strathmore Mansion Wedding: Dinea + Sam

Dinea, Sam, and I met before they booked me for their wedding at a café in D.C.. Seated across the table, they told me, and just as clearly showed each other, how lucky they felt to have met one another. When two people know what love is, and recognize it in each other, a photographer should take notice. Just after their ceremony, I captured some of that feeling in Sam's face as he and Dinea embraced. I know that their children saw the same affection, and I spent time watching them, in turn. You can tell the worth of a preacher by watching his or her children, and likewise you can see the promise of a relationship in the children's faces. Or you can tell from the backs of their heads, in a huge group hug. That says it all.

I'm especially pleased with the photo of Dinea and Sam together, in black and white, in front of the mansion. Another favorite of mine is of the children dancing, with others sitting in the windowsill behind them. Both had the warmth that I wanted to show, as it reflected the whole day.

Thank you, Sam and Dinea, for inviting me to witness your wedding!
