Elkridge Furnace Inn Wedding: Lauren and Tom

It's exciting when a couple takes you to new places. I had not been to St. Vincent de Paul Church, the oldest church in MD. The light was fantastic, and I'd never seen a couple distribute Communion before. It was touching in a way I hadn't expected.

So, after feeding their guests' souls, Lauren and Tom took everyone to Elkridge Furnace Inn for the reception to feed the body. Here, I found another new place and some fantastic food. While wandering around looking for nice places to photograph I ran into the Inn staff--I had to restrain my delight--picking food from the garden! No surprise, really. When I asked Lauren and Tom what they liked to do together, they said, "We like to eat. Yeah, we like to eat. And drink." And eat and drink they did, with the great food from the Inn. Thank you, I might add, for opening the buffet to the photographers.

For a self-effacing couple, they looked fantastic no matter what they did. From their First Look shots, to the great looking vintage car (I mentioned that Lauren looked a little like Lauren Bacall next to that vehicle.), to the dance floor... The Inn, itself, is very pretty and I thought we showcased the beauty of the locale along with the couple and their guests very well. The trick is to think of the place as a home, and then the character shows through.

I want to congratulate Lauren and Tom on their marriage, and for creating a wonderful gathering for their friends and family. Their taste and good humor were everywhere, and like many great weddings, I really didn't want to leave.
