Traditional Greek Wedding at Baltimore’s Sagamore Pendry: Kelsey and Dino
Kelsey, Dino, and I gathered on a chilly December day in Fells Point, Baltimore for their engagement session as we planned ahead to their spring wedding day. A few months later, on a cool spring day, we began preparing for wedding day. Kelsey and her bridesmaids gathered on wedding morning in matching pjs sets to sip champagne and have their hair and makeup done. Dino was home with family and friends for a traditional Greek celebration on wedding morning with lots of music, food, laughter and even tears. I love being a part of weddings that have traditions from cultures around the world.
Kelsey shared a special bridesmaids reveal moment before leaving home to head to the cathedral. The bridesmaids’ mismatched black dresses were perfect for the black tie wedding day and complemented the groomsmen's classic tuxedos. A bit of rain appeared in the afternoon, but it could not put a damper on Kelsey and Dino’s smiles on their wedding day. After a traditional Greek wedding ceremony, everyone headed to nearby Sagamore Pendry for cocktail hour and the wedding reception. The ballroom at the hotel is perfect for classic and modern wedding celebrations. Using a color palette of white, black, and gold, Kelsey and Dino’s creative wedding vendor team created an elegant and classic reception space. A mix of long and round tables featured mismatched floral centerpieces. I loved the mix of low vases with tall arrangements and warm candlelight. The head table was especially beautiful with a tall, floating floral centerpiece full of greenery and white blooms, while a mix of bud vases completed the look. A bit of sparkle was brought in with sequin tablecloths and the gold chairs.
Kelsey and Dino shared a first dance together upon entering the wedding reception and traditional Greek dances followed. The night ended with confetti canons and quite possibly the best baklava I’ve ever had.
